Cozy Weddings is a great little place to have a small wedding. It only holds about 50 people. The grounds are beautiful and the owners are very nice and cooperative.

What a great place to shoot a wedding video. Tempe Center for the Arts is a beutiful place to get married. If your looking for a fairly private wedding, this is not the place for you. Who Needs a Wedding Planner? — YOU DO!

I like to use this blog to give some insight on real wedding situations that arise. J&P Media has been shooting wedding videos for 4 years now and we run into just about every situation/ nightmare that can arise in a wedding. I have seen officiants not show up, brides freak out, grooms almost pass out, people throwing up and so on. But last weekend took the cake, so to speak. Myself the videographer, and a photographer were called out to a cattle ranch in the middle of no-where to shoot a western style wedding. When we got there we realized we were the only people there. So we waited. About an hour later a stray horse wondered through and then a cat, and then another cat, and then a dog, and last but not least a couple of cows. Shortly after that a quad with a cowboy showed up and then a truck with the groom. No Bride yet. We asked the groom what the plan was. He had no idea. So we waited. Eventually the bride showed up. When we asked her what the plan was she hesitated. There was no plan. So we asked her what time the ceremony was and she said,, sometime between 4:30 and 6:30pm. We were dumbfounded!

If you know anything about weddings and the vendors hired to cover the event, you know they like to have a plan. With out a plan you have a mess. Needless to say the night was a nightmare. We had no idea what was next or were to be at what time. When there is no plan or coordination, the bride and groom can’t possibly get the best out of the people they have hired to cover their wedding. This is where a wedding planner or a “Day Of Coordinator” comes in handy.

I work with 2 great planner/coordinators. These ladies really know their stuff and if I had known what was going on or not going on at this wedding I would have suggested a Day Of Coordinator. These ladies can take all the stress out of a potentially stressful wedding day. They work hard to make your day perfect. An Irish Wedding Indeed – Katelyn & Partick

A wedding planner friend of mine (Jeanne Colquette of Events Your Way) called me a few weeks ago. She had a couple that needed a wedding video shot on Saint Patrick’s day. The couple, Katelyn and Patrick are a fun couple, originally from back in the northeastern U.S.. The ceremony was held at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Chandler Arizona. This is a beautiful church to Shoot a wedding video in and around, But,, you need to watch our for the CHURCH LADY! She can be a little strict to say the least.

The reception was held at The Water Front in Tempe, AZ. The Water Front is a wonderful and beautiful event venue. The staff is very nice and the grounds are very well kept. The lake really makes this place feel like your at the beach and not in the desert.

All in all this was a great Wedding Video shoot. A preview will be up in a week or so. So check back to see it for yourself.

Royal Palms Hotel Wedding Video

OMG! I have never seen a more beautiful venue to hold a wedding as the Royal Palms in Phoenix, AZ. We came to shoot a wedding video and got a lot more than we expected. The grounds of this venue were incredible. I could shoot wedding videos here everyday of the week and come up with a different one every time. We thank the bride and groom, “who wish to be nameless”, for an incredible Wedding and wedding video shoot. Wedding Video – Inspirador Chandler Arizona

We were delighted to shoot a wedding video for Amber and Jerry at Inspirador in downtown Chandler Arizona this last weekend. Inspirador is a beautiful little venue with a old Europeon flavor to it. One word of warning if your a wedding videographer, Bring your lights! This old building has very low lighting and makes for grainy footage on HDV camcorders. If you are shooting DSLR and you have the right lenses you should be ok. Enough with the tech stuff.

If you are a bride looking for a great venue to have your wedding, INSPIRADOR is a very nice place. Its quaint, and it looks like it holds about 150 to 200 people. Wedding videos come out great ( We will have one here in about 2 weeks) and it is a all in one venue. Ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. No wondering from place to place.

This demo video is over 1 hour long. It is a representation of the way we film and edit. It is NOT the highest quality rendering. Putting a 1+ hour video online is very hard. All video sites have restrictions on the file size of the videos posted. So to get a smaller file size the video ends up being rendered a a poor quality bit rate. So remember All wedding videos produced by J&P Media Group are filmed and rendered in HD format. The quality you see in our DVD’s are the best they can be.

Spring has Sprung

Well it looks like Spring has Sprung here in Arizona. The wedding season is off to a slower than normal start but I feel it picking up rapidly. This year has been odd compared to the past years. Brides and Grooms seem to be waiting until just a few months before the wedding to nail down the last minute details. This is fine but, It can make certain types of vendors hard to find available. I recommend you shop early at least 9 to 12 months in advance. Other wise you mat have to settle for a less than extraordinary vendor.
